Multiple award-winning pianists, Gerhard Joubert, will bring the Bösendorfer Grand piano in the intimate space of the Investec room at Welgemeend to life on Sunday 20 August 2023. The performance will start at 12:00 and will include works by Ravel, Debussy and Liszt. It will consist of two forty-minute recitals with a short break in between them.
Gerhard is a fourth-year BMus performance student of Professor Francois du Toit at the University of Cape Town. He has performed on various stages and has received first prize awards in multiple competitions. He has recently won the 7th UNISA National Piano Competition. Gerhard matriculated at Jan van Riebeeck High School and practised in the Welgemeend manor house for hours on end. His presence at Welgemeend always filled the rooms as the Art Month team would prepare for the exhibition, a true “Cape moment” captured by us to treasure.
The ticket price include entrance to the Kaapse Oomblikke | Cape Moments art exhibition. Light refreshments will be served during the break.
Please note that doors will close at 12:00 for the start of the performance.
