Welgemeend, a property since 1693, is one of the oldest surviving homesteads in the city. Join Dr Gera de Villiers, Researcher and Junior Art Specialist at Strauss & Co, as she discusses the history and legacy of Welgemeend and the families who lived there.
Welgemeend is now an arts and cultural centre, housing the art collection and library of the well-known South African poet and Author, Boerneef. Amanda Botha, Art Journalist and personal friend of Boerneef, will share insights and anecdotes about the poet and his collection.
